FPS&F Partner Louis Cappelli Jr., along with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and other top-tier Camden County officials, held a press conference on Monday, May 1st, 2013 formally announcing the launch of the ground-breaking new Camden County Police force. The ceremony culminated with the swearing-in of Camden County Chief of Police, Scott Thomson. Under a shared services agreement the new Camden County Police force will also take over police operations for the City of Camden. The Camden County Police force will double the number of police officers patrolling the City of Camden at no additional cost to taxpayers.
By adding his legal background to this initiative, Mr. Cappelli, who also serves as Camden County Freeholder Director, helped make this complex shared services agreement possible. "The hard fought battle to make this county police force a reality was spearheaded by Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli," stated Dann Cuellar, of WPVI-TV/DT, Action News Philadelphia. Mr. Cappelli added that, "Camden residents will finally be able to enjoy safe neighborhoods and receive the level of public safety they deserve."
