FPSC Attorney Arianna Mouré Appointed to Gov. Murphy's Commission for Puerto Rico Relief

Florio Perrucci Steinhardt & Cappelli LLC is proud to announce that Attorney Arianna Mouré has been appointed to serve on New Jersey's Commission for Puerto Rico.

In response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico caused by Hurricane Maria, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed Executive Order No. 10 this week forming the 18-person committee which will assist in coordinating the State's response efforts to Puerto Rico.

Ms. Mouré was appointed this week along with other legal professionals, lobbyists, community leaders, corporate executives and others who will serve on the Commission which will work with State and Federal agencies to aid those who have been relocated and to find ways the State can provide additional aid to Puerto Rico. The devastating storm left nearly 3.5 million American citizens without basic necessities, destroyed nearly two-thirds of the island, and caused nearly $100 billion in damages. As such, the Commission is collaborating to prepare and submit a report to Governor Murphy which will outline how New Jersey may better assist Puerto Rico to rebuild and accommodate evacuees migrating to the State.

Ms. Mouré is actively committed to Puerto Rico relief efforts. She is the Co-Chair of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey’s (HBA-NJ) Disaster Relief Committee and continues to serve as Trustee of the Monmouth and Ocean County region.

Most recently, Ms. Moure and the HBA-NJ Disaster Relief Committee collected toy donations which were delivered to the children in Puerto Rico this holiday season. She also helped organize and manage the collection of 16 pallets worth of food, medical, hygienic and other necessary supplies which were shipped and distributed to the most devastated areas of Puerto Rico. In addition to working to collect monetary donations and supplies, she has also worked with the Committee to spread awareness by hosting a Call to Action wherein law students called legislators requesting their support of legislation that would aid Puerto Rico in the long term and hosted a free Post-Disaster Response CLE in preparation for providing Pro Bono FEMA Legal Clinics to assist Puerto Rico evacuees.

Ms. Mouré is based in the firm's Rochelle Park office. She represents public and private clients in the areas of education law, labor and employment, and general litigation matters.
