Philip J. Morin III is a Partner at Florio Perrucci Steinhart & Fader. Phil has substantial experience in complex litigation matters in a variety of disciplines, including employment defense, professional and fiduciary liability, director and officer liability, environmental, land use, real estate, tax appeals, and affordable housing.

Phil regularly represents businesses in defense of charges of discrimination and discrimination suits and has successfully defended matters before the New Jersey Division of Civil Rights, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs and in state and federal court involving claims of age, obesity, pregnancy, racial, ethnicity, sex and disability discrimination, as well as whistleblower and retaliation claims under various state and federal anti-discrimination laws. Phil also provides counseling to clients on various employment matters, including creation of and revisions to employment policies and in house training involving company policies and anti-discrimination laws.

In addition to his litigation expertise, Phil has extensive experience representing businesses in connection with land use and environmental regulatory approvals before local, county, regional, state and federal agencies. He has obtained land use approvals on behalf of clients including major expansions of manufacturing facilities, mixed-use development, transit-oriented development and retail development projects. Phil has also counseled clients on compliance obligations under federal and state health and safety, air and water pollution, hazardous and solid waste, Brownfields development and property transfer laws such as the New Jersey Industrial Site Recovery Act (“ISRA”). He currently serves as Middlesex County Environmental Civil Prosecutor, involving enforcement of New Jersey environmental laws.

Phil also provides general and special counsel services to public entities in the areas of labor, environmental, tax appeals, land use, redevelopment and affordable housing.

Phil serves as Chairman of the NJDEP’s Small Business Compliance Advisory Panel. He is a member of the Union County Bar Association, the Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce and the New Jersey Institute of Local Government Attorneys. In 2007, Phil was named as one of New Jersey’s “Forty Under 40” Lawyers by the New Jersey Law Journal.

Phil is a lifelong resident of Cranford, New Jersey, where he is active in the community as a member of the Board of Trustees of Union County College, as a member of local service organizations, including the Cranford Jaycees and Knights of Columbus, and as a youth soccer and basketball coach. He is active in numerous charitable causes, including Special Olympics New Jersey. Phil served as Cranford’s Mayor in 2000, and was a member of the Township Committee from 1997-2002. Phil served as Chairman of the Republican Committee of Union County from 2004 until 2014.
